Say buses being stopped few hundred metres away from Anna Nagar

- N DHAMOTHARAN @Coimbatore

PEOPLE belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC) residing in Anna Nagar are alleging that officers of TNSTC Coimbatore region are favouring caste Hindus by not operating two corporation buses to the village (Anna Nagar), where 300 SC families reside, from Kembanur, located near Thondamuthur in district. Although they have not lodged a formal complaint, Dravidar Viduthalai Kazhagam (DVK) has already petitioned the district administration in this regard. However, the DVK is yet to get a response.

When TNIE visited Kembanur, residents said that due to caste discrimination, caste Hindus do not allow two buses (21 and 21B) to enter Anna Nagar, located just 400 metres from Kembanur. They alleged that officers of TNSTC and politicians are supporting this.
