Re-edited with 24 cuts, Empuraan's new version to hit the screens today

A total of 2.08 minutes from the film deleted following backlash from the Sangh Parivar
AMID pressure from right-wing groups, the makers of Mohanlal-starrer 'L2: Empuraan' made 24 cuts in the three-hour film. Other edits include changing the antagonist's name from Bajrangi to Baldev, removing the 'NIA' car nameplate, muting the audio where NIA is mentioned, altering Hindu religious structures, and removing a scene involving violence against a pregnant woman.
The release of the re-edited version will most likely happen on Wednesday, sources said. The makers of 'Empuraan' have also removed a 'thanks card' to BJP MP and actor Suresh Gopi.
