Kovai's Int'l Hockey Stadium Nears Completion at RS Puram

The construction of Coimbatore's first international-standard hockey ground at RS Puram has been progressing steadily, and 70% of the work is complete, according to officials from the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation (CCMC).
The facility is being developed on a 7.02-acre site at the Corporation Higher Secondary School ground in RS Puram, at an estimated outlay of ₹9.67 crore.
Launched with much anticipation, the foundation stone for the project was laid by Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Sports & Youth Welfare Udhayanidhi Stalin on April 27 this year. Since then, the civic body has been working on a war footing to complete the project.
