Frequent patchworks by CCMC on Mettupalayam Road irk commuters

JUST days after completing patchworks, the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation (CCMC) has once again dug up key portions of the Mettupalayam Road, drawing flak from the Highways Department and motorists alike.
The work began on Tuesday night along the recently restored stretch between Vadakovai-Chinthamani junction and Avinashilingam University.
The road was earlier dug up for the 24/7 drinking water supply project's pipeline installation, during which one side of the National Highway was left severely damaged.
Though CCMC attempted to repair the stretch, poor-quality patchwork led to portions of the road caving in shortly after.
