AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami on Thursday said that utilizing funds from HR&CE for the maintenance of colleges was inappropriate, and instead called for the institutions to be converted into government arts and science colleges to ensure proper facilities for students.

- KRITHIKA SRINIVASAN @ Villupuram

Responding to CM M K Stalin's remarks on the HR&CE colleges row, EPS made the statement while launching the AIADMK's first phase of campaigning for the 2026 Assembly elections in Villupuram.

Addressing a gathering at Puducherry Road-Trichy Trunk Road junction, EPS launched an attack on DMK, accusing it of administrative failure, poor disaster preparedness, and neglect of public welfare.
