Aavin's milk powder plant in Salem to commence operations in February '26

About 80% of the construction work of Aavin's new 30 metric-tonne-per-day milk powder plant in Salem, which began in February 2024, is now complete, and the plant is expected to be ready by December.
Commercial production is expected to start in February 2026.
The ₹60-crore project will triple the plant's current processing capacity from 10 metric tonnes to 30 metric tonnes per day, making it one of the most advanced dairy facilities in the state.
Civil works have been completed on five floors of the six-storey building, and machinery procurement will begin soon, followed by installation and testing. Officials say the expansion will help Aavin (Salem) easily handle its milk procurement, the highest in the state.
