US bankruptcy court reverses $1 billion order against Byju Raveendran

A US bankruptcy court in Delaware has reversed its earlier judgment directing Think & Learn Pvt Ltd founder Byju Raveendran to pay $1.07 billion for the alleged diversion of funds from BYJU's Alpha, following the fresh submission of evidence by the company.

According to a statement from TLPL, the parent company of BYJU's, the court on Wednesday agreed that damages had not yet been determined and ordered a new phase to commence in early January 2026 to assess any damages related to the claims against Raveendran.

The Delaware court had previously issued an order asking Raveendran to pay $1.07 billion. The dispute stems from a large Term Loan B facility raised by Byju's Alpha, a US subsidiary, from a consortium of global lenders.
