TN files review plea against Dashwanth’s acquittal in top court

|November 26, 2025
THE state government has moved a petition in the Supreme Court, seeking the review of the order of a three-judge bench of the court on October 8, which acquitted Dashwanth, who had been convicted and was facing death penalty in the brutal murder of a seven-year-old girl.
The review petition along with an interlocutory petition to hear the review petition in the open court were filed by the government earlier this month. The same three-judge bench of Justice Vikram Nath, Justice Sanjay Karol, and Justice Sandeep Mehta, which delivered the verdict in October, will examine the petitions in an in-chamber proceeding on Wednesday to decide whether to admit them.
