|June 05, 2025
In a significant move, the Railways has decided to prioritize Tatkal ticket bookings for account holders who have linked their accounts with Aadhaar cards during the first 10 minutes of Tatkal ticket sale time slots.
Indian Railways will soon begin using e-Aadhaar authentication for booking Tatkal tickets. This will help genuine users get confirmed tickets, said Union Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw.
Announcing this on Wednesday, the Railways stated: "Account holders who link their accounts with Aadhaar will get priority booking during the first 10 minutes of Tatkal ticket sales. Even authorized IRCTC agents are not allowed to book tickets within the first 10 minutes of the Tatkal window opening."
