JKLF man accused in Rubaiya Sayeed case in CBI net after 36 years

THE Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested an accused carrying Rs 10 lakh bounty for his involvement in 1989 abduction of Rubiya Sayeed, the daughter of then Union home minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, after 36 years in Srinagar.
The accused, identified as Shafat Ahmed Shangloo, was arrested by the CBI officials from Nishat area of Srinagar on Monday.
According to the CBI spokesperson, Shangloo conspired with Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief Yasin Malik and others in committing the crime under various sections of the Ranbir Penal Code and the Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act in 1989.
