SC asks Allahabad HC to file details of judge's comments

AMID criticism over the controversial speech of Justice Shekhar Kumar Yadav of the Allahabad High Court, delivered at a VHP function on December 8, the Supreme Court on Tuesday called for details from the High Court.
"The Supreme Court has taken note of reports of a speech given by Mr Justice Shekhar Kumar Yadav, a sitting judge of the High Court of Judicature at Allahabad. The details and particulars have been called from the High Court and the matter is under consideration," an official statement said.

Gulveer breaks half marathon NR in NYC
INDIA'S long distance runner, Gulveer Singh, bettered the national men’s half marathon (21km) record on Sunday. The 27-year-old army runner clocked 59 minutes and 42 seconds to finish third at the New York City Half Marathon. Adriaan Wildschutt of South Africa was first with a time of 59:30. The previous national record of 1:00:30 was set by Avinash Sable, in 2020 at Delhi Half Marathon.
