The country's natural gas demand is projected to grow by nearly 60% by 2030, reaching 103 billion cubic meters (bcm) annually, according to a report by the Paris-based International Energy Agency (IEA).

- Rakesh Kumar

The report, titled India Gas Market Report: Outlook to 2030, released by the IEA on Wednesday at the third edition of India Energy Week 2025, also recommended that India should fully deregulate the pricing of domestic natural gas, unbundle marketing and transportation businesses, and focus on enhancing gas-related infrastructure and ensuring gas supply security, among other measures.
