You started Crimson at the age of 17. What pushed you to take on elite admissions at such a young age?
I grew up in New Zealand and loved education. Very few of my classmates were interested in going to Ivy League schools. When I was 14, I met a mentor, Ben Kornfeld, who gained admission to Yale, and his story inspired me to believe maybe I could do it too.
So, going through high school, I spent a lot of time on my academics, extracurriculars, leadership essays, and all the various pieces, and I applied to a wide range of schools like Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford, Columbia and Cambridge. I found out that I had been admitted to all of them, and it was super exciting. Also, I had so many students reaching out to me to ask if I could guide them as well.
Crimson began as a give-back project to help my fellow New Zealanders, and I never looked back since.
Where is international education heading in the post-COVID era and with the changes in immigration laws?
