The Sri Shirdi Sai Anandamaiyee Temple at Hunsemaradapalya is celebrating its 23rd anniversary
-
Nestled off the Mysore Road beyond Kengeri lies a sanctified sanctuary imbued with serenity — Sri Shirdi Sai Anandamaiyee Temple, a resplendent tribute to the life and teachings of Shirdi Sai Baba. Established in 2002, this architectural and spiritual haven has quietly evolved into a profound centre of faith, devotion, and social service.
A Shrine Sculpted in Faith The principal sanctum of the temple was constructed under the devoted stewardship of Samyuktha Mahesh, a disciple of Sri Shivanesan Swamiji and the late Zarine, both ardent followers of Sai Baba. What began as a modest structure has now blossomed into a sprawling temple complex, encompassing sacred spaces such as the Gurusthan, Dwarakamaiyee, Khandoba Mandir, Nandadeep, and sanctums dedicated to Lord Krishna, Subramanya, and Lord Hanuman.
Reflecting the Shirdi Vidhi, the temple meticulously observes all four daily aartis — Kakad, Madhyana, Dhoop, and Shej Aarti — rendered in melodious Marathi, echoing the spiritual cadence of Shirdi itself.
Mirroring the Divine Layout of Shirdi A striking aspect of the temple is its architectural fidelity to the original Shirdi Samadhi Mandir. The spatial configuration — with the Gurusthan, Dwarakamai, and Maruthi Mandir — has been harmoniously replicated. Particularly fascinating is the inclusion of 108 engraved stones surrounding the Samadhi Mandir, where devotees circumambulate, chanting "Sri Sai Nathaya Namaha", immersing themselves in meditative repetition.
