REMARKS by Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, on Monday about the resignation of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar sparked a sharp response from the treasury benches.
Kharge called Dhankhar's departure "unexpected" and "unprecedented in the annals of Parliamentary history". Speaking in the Upper House, the Congress president said he felt disheartened that the House had not had the chance to formally bid farewell to Dhankhar before he stepped down.
