UNION Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday chaired a high-level meeting to assess the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir and reiterated the government’s commitment toa terrorism-free region.

He instructed officials to ensure that the government’s zero-tolerance policy toward terrorism is strictly enforced.

He also cautioned that with winter approaching, security forces must remain prepared to prevent terrorists from exploiting snowfall to infiltrate across the border. The review meeting was attended by key officials, including Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Intelligence Bureau Director Tapan Deka, J&K Police Chief Nalin Prabhat, CRPF Director General G.P. Singh, and BSF Director General Daljit Singh Chawdhary.
