Two AP players make Indian Sitting Volleyball team final cut

TWO Para Sitting Volleyball players from Andhra Pradesh have earned spots on the Indian team for the 2025 World Para-Volley Sitting Volleyball World Cup, scheduled to be held in Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA, from October 12 to 18.

The selection trials were held on July 9 at Bengaluru City University, where nearly 300 athletes from across the country participated, and only fourteen players were made the final cut.

Among them are Vijaya Kumar Velpula from Darsi in Prakasam district and Annam Ganesh from Somudevupalli village in Anakapalle district.

Para Volleyball Association of Andhra Pradesh President Sivadath Bodapati expressed pride in their achievement. "It is a proud moment for Andhra Pradesh to have two of our athletes representing India on the global stage," he said, congratulating both players during a felicitation ceremony in Visakhapatnam.
