District Collectors unveil major education and infrastructure projects with emphasis on regional development

- EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE @Tirupati/Kurnool/Kadapa

THE 76th Republic Day celebrations were held with enthusiasm across Chittoor, Tirupati, Nellore, Kurnool and Kadapa on Sunday, marked by ceremonial parades, flag hoisting, and recognition of government employees and police personnel for their dedicated service.

In Chittoor, District Collector Sumit Kumar addressed the public after hoisting the national flag at the Police Training Centre. He highlighted this year's Republic Day theme, "Cultural Preservation and Development," and paid tribute to soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the nation, including Pangal Karthik Yadav from Bangarupalyam mandal. Kumar also provided updates on ongoing infrastructure projects, including the Chittoor-Tachur National Highway (₹3,800 crore) and the Chennai-Bangalore National Highway (₹5,000 crore), which are scheduled for completion in 2025 and 2026, respectively. These projects are expected to improve connectivity and drive economic growth in the region.
