|January 16, 2025
A young boy from a poor family has made a remarkable achievement in the South Asian Jump Rope Championship 2025 in Nepal, winning a gold medal and proving that poverty cannot hinder talent.
This inspiring success story unfolded on the festive day of Sankranti, as his school and community celebrated his victory with a procession from his school to his home in Kadapa.
Veer Harish, a 14-year-old Class 8 student from Mydukur in Kadapa, comes from a humble background. His father, Veer Prasad, works as a barber to support his family. Harish, who attends the Mydukur Zilla Parishad School, was introduced to skipping games after watching videos on his cell phone. Fascinated by the game, Harish taught himself the basics before participating in several competitions.
