Heatwave grips Kurnool, 5 deaths reported so far

Several towns recorded temperature above 40°C, forcing residents to stay indoors

SEVERE heatwave conditions persist in Kurnool district, with temperatures exceeding 42°C over the past week. At least five heat-related deaths have been reported this summer, as the rising temperatures increase the risk of sunstroke.

Kurnool, Nandyal, and other towns recorded maximum temperatures between 40°C and 42°C, forcing residents indoors. The worst-affected areas include Gospadu, Bandi Atmakur, Nandikotkur, Orvakal, Owk, Kodumuru, Dhone, Adoni, and Yemmiganur.
