Plan to contest from unreserved constituency doesn't imply chief ministerial ambition
LOK Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief and union minister Chirag Paswan on Sunday announced that he will contest the Bihar assembly elections. He, however, did not specify the constituency from which he would be fighting, leaving it to the people.
While addressing the 'Nav Sankalp Sabha' organised by his party in Ara in the Bhojpur district, Chirag said, "Yes... I will contest the election from Bihar for Bihar and the people of Bihar. I will run in all 243 seats. The people will decide from which seat I should contest."
He, however, clarified that his plans to contest from an unreserved constituency should not be construed as ambitions for the chief ministership. "Let me make one thing very clear. My contest will only ensure a better strike rate for my party, which would help NDA," he asserted.
