Chided for cellphone use, 20-yr-old NEET aspirant kills mother, injures dad

A 20-year-old NEET aspirant allegedly attacked his parents, who were government school teachers, after being scolded for excessive cell-phone usage.
While his mother succumbed to her injuries, the father is undergoing treatment at a hospital in the nearby Gondia district of Maharashtra. The incident took place in the Waraseoni area of the tribal dominated Balaghat district late on Monday night.
Twenty-year-old youth Satyam Katre allegedly attacked Pratibha and Kishore Katre with an iron rod multiple times on their head, on being scolded for excessive cell-phone usage, which was impacting his preparations for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (undergraduate).
