Varsities call for revamp in criteria for edu ministry’s NIRF rankings

The call for reform came during a high-level meeting held in New Delhi Friday evening, chaired by Education Secretary Vineet Joshi. The meeting was convened in the wake of mounting concerns over the 2025 edition of the NIRF rankings, which were delayed and subjected to third-party scrutiny by Ernst & Young - a first in the history of the rankings -- following widespread criticism over unexpected changes in institutional standings.
