A professional display by Uttar Pradesh Hockey helped the visitors to thrash Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu 3-1 and enter the semifinals of the National men's hockey championship played at the SDAT-Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium here on Wednesday.

Lalit Kumar Upadhyay, captain of the UP team who scored a goal in the 34th minute, was pleased that his team entered the semifinals, beating local favourites Tamil Nadu.
Tamil Nadu were poor in ball possession and their passes lacked imagination.
