Thackerays promise free power, Marathi mayor to Mumbai for BMC polls

THE Thackeray brothers-Uddhav and Raj-on Sunday released their joint manifesto, titled 'Promises of Thackeray,' for the January 15 BMC election.
They have promised a free water supply and electricity up to 100 units for each household. Covering key sectors, the manifesto details their next five-year plan. Raj Thackeray also said that the next mayor of Mumbai will be a Marathi only.
"Mumbai is the capital of Maharashtra, so its mayor will be Marathi only. We are Hindus, not Hindi. The BJP tries to confuse the two words. But we are clear that the next mayor of Mumbai will be Marathi only," he emphasised.
