Terror attack on Rajouri house of Shaurya Chakra awardee

A week after four Army men, including a Captain, were killed in an encounter with militants in mountainous Doda district, militants on Monday struck in J&K's border district of Rajouri by attacking the house of Shaurya Chakra awardee Village Defence Committee (VDC) member Purshotam Kumar in a remote village, triggering a gunfight with the Army.
A soldier and relative of the VDC member were injured in the militant firing. The militant attack took place two days after Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi visited Jammu and reviewed the security arrangements amid a surge in militant attacks in the region.
