Shinde says he has Modi's blessings, will stay as CM

ON the last day of the Maharashtra assembly's monsoon session, chief minister Eknath Shinde on Friday reiterated that there would not be a change of guard in Maharashtra because he has the "blessings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi."
Last week while replying to the Opposition, Shinde strongly put across his point that there was no talk about replacing him. Ever since Ajit Pawar joined as the deputy CM in the BJP-led government, there have been rumours that Shinde will be replaced soon. The buzz gained momentum after Shinde along with his family members met PM Modi, which was viewed as his "farewell meeting."
However, Shinde on Friday said he has the blessings of the PM and that his work has been appreciated. He tried to drive home the point that there was no truth in the speculation about changing the CM.
