Roadmap Prepared for Census Rollout: Minister

The Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Tuesday said preparations for Census 2027 have begun with a two-day conference of Directors of Census Operations held in this regard at the beginning of July.
The Ministry also confirmed that the exercise will encompass caste enumeration and will be conducted in two phases.
In a written reply to a query in this regard, Minister of State (MoS) for Home Nityanand Rai informed the Lok Sabha that a two-day conference was held on July 3-4 in the national capital, which was attended by Directors of Census Operations, senior officers from Directorates of Census Operations, and officers from the Office of Registrar General and Census Commissioner, India.
