Odisha speeds up relief measures

AHEAD of the landfall of cyclone Dana, the Odisha government intensified relief activities by distributing 862 quintal of flattened rice and 97 quintal jaggery to the households in districts likely to be affected by the tropical storm.

Sources said around 321 quintal of flattened rice and 57 quintal jaggery was distributed in Bhadrak district alone. Relief materials were also distributed in parts of Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Balasore and Mayurbhanj districts.
