NHRC notice to govt over plea on pedestrians' rights

THE National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has issued notice to the secretary of Ministry of Road Transport and Highways over the deaths and injuries to pedestrians due to negligence or inaction of authorities.
The NHRC sought an 'action taken report' within six weeks.
The NHRC passed the order, acting on a petition filed by Supreme Court lawyer and human rights activist Radhakanta Tripathy.
