Middle-order collapse leaves Delhi reeling vs Assam
The Morning Standard
|October 28, 2024
Delhi's woes with the willow continued as the team struggled to 214 for six after the likes of Yash Dhull and Himmat Singh failed to convert their starts into substantial knocks in their Ranji Trophy match against visiting Assam in New Delhi on Sunday.
Resuming at their overnight score of 264 for six, Assam's first innings ended at 330 with wicketkeeper Sumit Ghadigaonkar making 162 off 237 balls. Rana ended with fine figures of 5/80.
Delhi were 214/6 at stumps.
Advantage Hyderabad
HYDERABAD: A century by Tanmay Agarwal followed by four half-centuries helped hosts Hyderabad declare their first innings at a mammoth total of 536/8 in their match against Puducherry. Tanmay Agarwal slammed 173 while Abirath Reddy (68), Rohit Rayudu (84), Kodimela Himateja (60) and Tanay Thyagarajan (53 not out) hit a fifty each. Hyderabad then reduced Puducherry to 24/2.
