Extending losses for fourth consecutive session, BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50 crashed more than 2% each
FEAR of rising tension in the Middle-East following Iran's missile attack on Israel and its impact on the global economy, especially on the very crucial crude oil, weighed heavily on domestic equity market. Local equities fell sharply on Thursday and erased investors' wealth by 10 lakh crore.
Extending losses for the fourth consecutive session, benchmark indices - BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50 - crashed over 2% each. At Thursday's close, Sensex was down 1,769.2 points or 2.1% at 82,497.10, and Nifty 50 settled 529.90 points or 2.05% lower at 25,267.00. This is the biggest slump for the benchmarks in two months.
