MEA says no extra restrictions put on OCI card holders

INDIA has said that no additional restrictions have been placed on OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) card holders in the recent past, seeking to dispel apprehensions that the new rules introduced by the government have stripped the global Indian community of many of their privileges.
"Friends in the Indian American community are hereby informed that no new change has been introduced in the recent past for OCI card holders. The provisions that were made in the gazette notification in 2021 regarding the rights of OCI card holders continue to remain in force," the office of the consulate general of India in New York said in a post on X.
