Maratha quota stir called off as Shinde accepts demands

ACTIVIST Manoj Jarange on Saturday called off his indefinite fast for Maratha quota after the Maharashtra government accepted his demands.
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced that till Marathas get reservation, they will be given all the benefits enjoyed by the OBCs.
'Sage-soyare' is a Marathi term for 'relatives from the family tree'. According to the government notification, the term includes "relatives of an applicant's father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and in earlier generations forming out of marriages within the same caste." Jarange had launched his fast at Vashi in Navi Mumbai on Friday.

Early skeptics were silenced when a Delhi retailer toured their fully automated, dust-free plant and came away impressed. ZOFF now employs a workforce that is 70 per cent from Chhattisgarh, with senior leaders choosing Raipur over metro cities. Its spices travel far beyond the state, reaching homes across India and even the Middle East. Running a business from a Tier II city, CEO Akash admits, has its hurdles—limited packaging vendors, testing labs, and slower freight timelines—but the benefits are clear: lower costs, access to fresh raw materials, and a community that celebrates their growth as its own.
