Says will spell out next course of action in 48 hrs; BJP RS seat likely
-
IN a big blow to Congress in Maharashtra, former Congress chief minister Ashok Chavan on Monday resigned from the primary membership of the party and even submitted his resignation as an MLA to the Maharashtra assembly speaker.
Commenting on Chavan's move, deputy CM and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis remarked: "Aage aage dekhiye hota hai kya (let's see how things unfolds)." Fadnavis' laconic remark seemed to draw strength from Chavan's decision to "explore new political alternatives." However, the ex-CM clarified that he has not yet decided to join the BJP.
