International drug racket kingpin Jaffer Sadiq nabbed

THE Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Saturday said it has arrested Jaffer Sadiq, a former DMK functionary, in connection with an international drug trafficking investigation estimated to be worth more than ₹2,000 crore.
The agency had busted the cartel last month.
NCB deputy director general (operations) Gyaneshwar Singh told reporters in New Delhi that Sadiq's link with the Tamil and Hindi film industry, his links with 'high-profile' people, and instances of 'political funding' are under the scanner.
Sources said the agency may summon a 'high-profile' DMK leader for questioning over suspected monetary transactions between him and Sadiq.
Sadiq was arrested in Delhi on the basis of specific intelligence inputs and he is the "mastermind and kingpin" of a trans-national pseudoephedrine smuggling racket spread across Australia, New Zealand, and Malaysia, Singh said.
