The Supreme Court on Monday questioned Allahabad High Court judge, Justice Yashwant Varma, over his decision to participate in an in-house inquiry without challenging its formation even as he now contests the findings that indicted him for misconduct.
"Why did you wait for the inquiry to conclude and the report to be released? Why participate if you disagreed with the process?" a bench of Justices Dipankar Datta and Augustine George Masih asked, as Justice Varma's writ petition challenging the in-house panel's findings was taken up.
