THE Punjab and Haryana High Court on Thursday ordered a judicial inquiry into the death of 22-year-old farmer Shubhkaran Singh, who lost his life at the Punjab-Haryana border in alleged police firing.

A division bench of Acting Chief Justice Gurmeet Singh Sandhawalia and Justice Lapita Banerji was hearing pleas regarding farmers' protest on the killing of the young farmer. The bench also constituted a threemember panel comprising a retired High Court judge and two ADGP-rank officers from Haryana and Punjab to probe the matter.
