CM says commission 'insensitive', while poll body sends senior IAS officers as Bengal observers
IN a move to intensify the ongoing SIR of electoral rolls in West Bengal, the Election Commission (EC) on Saturday appointed four more IAS officers from the Centre as special roll observers (SRO).
The move comes on a day Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee wrote another letter to Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar, accusing the EC of lacking "sensitivity and understanding of ground realities" in the state. She flagged the difficulties faced by migrant workers from Bengal in the SIR.
