No OPDs and non-essential services in govt, private and even in some corporate hospitals
HEALTHCARE services across the country were severely hit on Saturday as the doctors halted non-essential services in government, private and even in some corporate hospitals on the Indian Medical Association (IMA)'s call for a 24-hour shutdown to protest the brutal rape and murder of a trainee doctor in a state-run hospital in Kolkata.
As senior doctors also joined the strike, in many states, especially in government hospitals, medical services were paralysed entirely.
