BJD drops 5 sitting MLAs in 6th list, fields actor, turncoats and new faces

BJD supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday announced candidates for nine Assembly segments, dropping five sitting MLAs including three former ministers and bringing in turncoats, an actor and newbies in their place.
Issuing the party's sixth list, Naveen declared the names of candidates for Kendrapara, Barchana, Simulia, Chilika, Anandapur, Champua, Saraskana, Karanjia and Remuna Assembly segments. The list has four women, two each from the Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes categories.
