UP, Bihar, MP received 36% of tax meant for sharing with states in FY24
TOP five industrial states of the country contribute more than two-third of the direct taxes collected by the central government, even as less developed states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh are taking away more than a third of tax devolved by the Centre to the states, the government informed parliament on Monday.
