Asian Paints profit rises 43% on robust demand

THE country's largest paints maker Asian Paints on Wednesday reported a 43% rise in consolidated net profit at ₹994 crore for the second quarter of the current financial year, driven by strong performance in its decorative, automotive and industrial paints business.

Consolidated net sales increased 6.4% to 8,513.7 crore from ₹8,003 crore a year ago. On a standalone basis, net sales rose 5.8% to 7,336 crore, the company said in a statement.
