WEST Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday held BJP's ideological parent RSS responsible for the unrest in strife-hit Sandeshkhali and alleged "there were other plans" during Saraswati Puja.

Amid pressure, Didi breaks silence, blames RSS for Sandeshkhali unrest

"RSS has a base in Sandeshkhali, where riots took place seven-eight years ago also. It is one of the vulnerable riot spots.

We handled the situation strongly during Saraswati Puja or else there were other plans," she said in the Bengal Assembly.

"I have never supported violence. State Women's Commission and administrative officials had been dispatched to the area and some arrests made.

Our women police teams are present there. A women police team is visiting and addressing grievances," the CM added.
