6 women among 7 killed, 26 injured in stampede at Bihar's Jehanabad temple

AT least seven people, including six women, were killed and 26 others injured, nine of them seriously, in a stampede when they were going to Baba Siddhanth temple atop Barabar Hills in Bihar's Jehanabad district, officials said on Monday.
The police said the injured were rushed to the hospitals in Makhdumpur and Jehanabad for treatment. The stampede took place around 11.30 pm on Sunday when devotees were climbing Barabar Hills to offer holy water puja rituals at the Shiva temple under Makhdumpur police station limits in Jehanabad district.
District magistrate Alankrita Pandey said the situation was under control.
