4K-page chargesheet in Sambhal violence names Dubai-based mastermind

THE special investigation team (SIT) of Uttar Pradesh police filed a chargesheet of over 4,000-pages in six of the 12 cases in connection with November 24 violence in Sambhal, the western UP district.
The violence had erupted during the ASI's survey of the Mughal-era Jama Masjid in compliance of the local court order.
The chargesheet, filed on Thursday, named Dubai-based international auto-lifter as the mastermind behind the unrest. The accused faced charges of rioting, arson, and firing, with investigations tracing the links to organized crime and foreign funding.
