POLICE in the Western Cape are appealing for public assistance in tracing two men who may have information about the mass murder in Gugulethu on Saturday.

- MERCURY CORRESPONDENTS

The mass shooting incident took place at approximately 3.30am at a residence in the Kanana informal settlement in Gugulethu. Seven people were gunned down while socialising in the kitchen. They were ambushed by unknown assailants. Three other men who were asleep elsewhere in the house at the time of the attack escaped unharmed.

The provincial police spokesperson, Colonel Andrè Traut, confirmed that two men are being sought.
