Perils of distorted narratives and selective outrage

Z KHAN's letter being tellingly silent on the cowardly killings of Hindu tourists by Islamic terrorists follows a familiar and troubling pattern of distortions of history, Goebbelsian propaganda, and blind support for terrorism in India by those who uphold the primacy of the Islamic brotherhood.

As horrifying as the Pahalgam massacre is, the subsequent rationalisation of such terror is equally appalling. Why should India (Hindustan) suffer in silence anymore? This narrative relies heavily on false equivalence, such as comparing Kashmir to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, an analogy that lacks historical accuracy and context.

History, it is said, “is written by the victors,” and indeed, narratives are often formatted into Orwellian versions where victims are painted as oppressors and bigots are elevated as freedom fighters.

Khan's narrative is a textbook case of this inversion, which seeks to obscure centuries of violence inflicted upon the indigenous Hindu population of Kashmir.
