Funding of Israel contradicts US's liberal democracy claim

It is perhaps the only country which is a net receiver of US military-industrial largesse

NEVER mind who coined the adage that "Evil prevails when good men (or women) do nothing.

Whether it was philosophers John Stuart Mill or Edmund Burke, or rooted in the exegesis of theological texts, its underlying message is as relevant today as it was in ancient times.

Perhaps even more relevant currently as famine and the wanton murder of journalists, let alone the civilian population, especially children and women, in Gaza continues unabated, driven by an extreme right-wing ideology of political Zionism presided over by a morally corrupt Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and perpetrated by a callous Israel Defence Forces (IDF) with complete supremacy of the Gazan skies, whose latest chief of staff only a few days ago had the chutzpah to advise his political masters that enough is enough.

None of this would have been possible without the unwavering support in funding and arms of Israel’s chief patron, US President Donald Trump, whose legacy, contrary to his own obsession of getting the Nobel Peace Prize seemingly at any cost, already precedes the end of his presidential term with a beauty parade of personal and political flaws ranging from extreme narcissism, conduct unbefitting the Office of the President relating to policies directly linked to enriching him and his cronies, with scant regard for conflicts of interest, chauvinism bordering on bigotry and misogyny, a loss of moral compass, bullying of opponents and elected senior officials, and vindictive revenge vendettas against ex-friends and foes alike.
