VETERAN South African journalist Mr Dennis Pather passed away.
He was an iconic figure in our fractured world.
We remember him for his unflinching support, in the struggle against oppression, endemic corruption and against racism.
He gave and rendered impartial and objective journalism the respect and admiration it deserved. He is a giant among those who strive to put the ordinary man and woman at the heart of his reporting.
He took on the establishment and those powerful men and women in the corridors of power without fear or favour and earned a deserved reputation as our greatest author.
